Latvian Championship Middle (07-09-2013)

The race I had been preparing for the last two months.
I didn't quite master the terrain and did'nt have a good fluency in my orienteering.
Really bad route choice to third - straight was hell.
Straight (=bad) again and small mistake in the control area to 4th
Bad last part of my route to 10th - couldn't see the narrow ride, afterwards lost direction in the green and had to stop to regain control.
Also suboptimal short leg execution from 11-15.
In the end extremely stupid mistake to 17th where I just didn't read the map.
I finished as 6th, more than 5 minutes behind Lauri Sild and Edgars Bertuks, but the bronze medal was possible. 6th is good and my performance was OK, but just not excellent. And I need excellence to get some medals.
