Lieldienu Balva (2013-04-01)

First real competition in Latvia this season. There was still snow and ice on the streets but it didn't bother me much.
My race went technically and physically very well. There were plenty of similar route choices and I took some wrong decisions. To 5th and possibly to 7th and 13th. But otherwise I had a clean run and, what is most rewarding to know, I was able to look and plan ahead. There is still work to do but I am pleased with my sprint orienteering level right now.
Physically I felt good and struggled only in the last couple of controls but it was kind of a good struggle - I was able to keep decent speed all the way.
It's a pity that the next sprint will probably take place only at the Latvian Champs in the beginning of June.
In this race I finished 8th, 59 seconds after flying Arturs Paulins.
